How to Measurefor Your TrueDial

1

Why Fit Matters

Too loose, and it can't do its job

A brace that's too big slides and won't steady the joint

Too tight, and it becomes a distraction

Too small can pinch or affect circulation; comfort is what keeps it on

The TrueDial advantage

TrueDial adjusts with a dial, not fixed elastic β€” measure to land in the right size range, then dial in the exact tension.

2

What You'll Need

  • Soft flexible tape measure (or string + ruler)
  • Pen and paper
  • The TrueDial size chart
Before you start

Measure on bare skin, leg relaxed, don't flex the muscle.

3

How to Measure Your Knee

TrueDial uses two simple measurements β€” around the knee and just above it. Measure each twice.

STEP 1 β€” "Around the Kneecap" (primary measurement)

Wrap tape around the widest part of the kneecap, snug not tight.

Tape around center of kneecap

Tape around center of kneecap

STEP 2 β€” "Above the Knee" (for a secure hold)

Measure thigh 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) above the kneecap center.

Tape around thigh above kneecap

Tape around thigh above kneecap

Take each measurement twice and average; if knees differ, use the larger; the dial tightens from there.

Choosing Your Size

More compression and a firmer feel during activity β†’ the smaller size
More flexibility and all-day comfort β†’ the larger size
Still unsure? Size up.

TrueDial tightens with the dial, so a slightly larger brace dialed in beats a too-small one.

Check the Fit Once It's On

After dialing to a comfortable tension, walk, sit, stand, bend the knee β€” it should stay put without pinching, kneecap centered in the opening.

Signs it needs adjusting
  • Numbness, tingling, or a cold feeling in the foot or lower leg
  • Skin discoloration above or below the brace
  • The brace slides down while walking
  • Increased pain or swelling with the brace on
  • Fabric bunching or folding behind the knee

If the knee is actively swollen the reading may be larger; measure at a different time of day; this is general fitting help, not medical advice.
